Celebrate summer and show off your skin with confidence

From pool parties to barbecues, ’tis the season to show off more skin, celebrate summer and reconnect with friends and loved ones as social distancing restrictions ease. If a stressful year or the hands of time have taken a toll on your skin, don’t fret!

We’ve got some terrific tips on how to get younger-looking skin in the short- and long-term.

Summer celebrations start NOW! Follow these tips to learn how to look younger FAST

If your skin appears dull or you’re wondering, what can I do to make my skin look younger and tight—right away—you do have options. There are numerous aesthetic treatments you can DIY or undergo via the skilled hands of a licensed aesthetician at EVEXIAS. Consider the following tips to jumpstart your summer skincare routine.

Exfoliate from head to toe

Over time, skin can take on a dry, dull appearance as dead skin cells accumulate. Regular, gentle exfoliation at home to remove dead skin cells from the face and body is one of the easiest ways to regain younger-looking skin. If you’re wondering how to get glowing healthy skin, it’s time to step up your exfoliation game.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

It’s essential to follow up daily cleansing, showering and exfoliation with a quality moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and healthy. At EVEXIAS, we recommend skinbetter science skin care products, which are loaded with vitamins and antioxidants and provide a variety of anti-aging benefits and treat dry skin.

Want people to ask you, “What is your secret to glowing skin?” Regular at-home exfoliation treatments followed by a quality moisturizer is a great place to start!

Minimize fine lines and wrinkles with Dysport

This FDA-approved Botulinum Toxin A injectable is one of the most popular anti-aging treatments we offer at EVEXIAS because it works fast (results appear in 24 to 48 hours), only takes a brief 10-minute treatment (on average) and lasts for months.

Want to know how to maintain a tight skin when I get old? Millions of happy patients rely on Botox and Dysport every year for its proven, wrinkle smoothing results.

Add volume to skin with hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable fillers

As we age, volume loss in the skin leads to wrinkles, sagging skin and nasolabial folds. Injectable HA dermal filler treatments support the rehydration of skin (HA exists naturally in our bodies and attracts water). At EVEXIAS, we LOVE the HA injectable Revanesse® VersaTM, because it works quickly, patients experience less swelling compared to other fillers, and results last for up to a year or more.

What are the best ways to retain a youthful appearance?

Follow these simple tips to PREVENT premature aging and improve skin health this summer and beyond

Patients often ask our practitioners questions, such as:

  • How to get younger skin without any chemical product?
  • How to make my face look young?
  • How to take care of my skin after 30?

Along with the aesthetic treatments we provide, our practitioners also provide guidance and treatments to improve health inside and out. One of our biggest tips? Treat your body like a temple to help ensure healthy, youthful-looking skin for years to come.

What you put into your body is just as important as what you put on your skin. Consider these tips if you’re wondering how to prevent my skin from aging or what do you do to look ten or more years younger:

Use sunscreen religiously to prevent AND reverse signs of aging.

Exposure to the sun’s UV rays is the most prevalent and preventable cause of premature aging. While you may know sunscreen helps protect skin and prevent photoaging, research from a 52-week study also suggests that “daily use of a facial photostable sunscreen (SPF 30) may visibly reverse the signs of existing photodamage.” Wow!

Worried that wearing sunscreen will prevent you from getting all of the vitamin D you need? A 2019 study revealed that people who properly applied a higher SPF sunscreen were able to synthesize vitamin D better than those using a sunscreen with a lower SPF.

That’s right! Sunscreen may help prevent AND reverse the signs of aging, while supporting vitamin D synthesis. Be sure to include this step in your daily skincare routine, especially natural sunscreens and those without harmful chemicals. We recommend the skinbetter science sunscreen products recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Drink plenty of water to keep skin healthy, supple and hydrated.

As adults, water comprises 60% of our bodies and is the main component of cells and tissues in the body. Water plays a key role in the optimal functioning of cells, warding off inflammation, flushing out toxins and maintaining electrolyte balance.

If you’ve ever been dehydrated, you may have noticed that your skin appeared more wrinkly than normal. Proper hydration of the skin is essential for skin health, while dehydrated skin is generally known to cause dermatological issues. Research suggests that increasing daily water intake could have a positive impact on skin physiology.

How much water should you drink each day? According to the Harvard Medical School, healthy adults typically need four to six cups of water per day. However, how much water YOU need may be different. Water intake varies depending on physical activity, caffeine and alcohol intake, medications you take (some medications cause fluid retention) and certain health conditions. It’s best to speak with your healthcare practitioner to find out how much water makes sense for you.

Compensate for collagen deficiency with collagen peptide supplements.

Collagen is an amino-acid rich, non-soluble protein comprised of interconnected fibers that literally support the tissues in our body, including the skin. Our bodies produce less collagen as we age, and exposure to UV light, use of tobacco and nicotine products (that includes e-cigarettes), poor diet and excessive sugar intake can also take a toll on collagen levels.

Symptoms of low collagen levels show up all over the body, including the skin, which can become dry and begin to sag, wrinkle and appear crepey absent the hydration and elasticity benefits of collagen.

Fortunately, collagen peptide supplements (a form of soluble collagen also known as hydrolyzed collagen) have been shown to replenish collagen levels and provide many benefits for the skin. One study showed that menopausal women who took a collagen peptide supplement experienced significant improvements in wrinkle depth, along with improved elasticity and hydration of the skin. For best results, we recommend consuming the powdered form of collagen peptides mixed with water or another beverage of your choice.

Don’t use tobacco or nicotine products.

We all know smoking and other forms of tobacco use are bad for our health, right? However, research has also shown the harmful chemicals in tobacco and nicotine can age skin prematurely. Ditch the cigarettes (traditional and e-cigs), cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, nicotine gum, patches and lozenges if you want to look younger for years to come.

Prioritize your gut health.

At EVEXIAS, we often talk about the importance of gut health for a strong immune system and total body health. Leakly gut and an unbalanced gut microbiome have been linked to many disease states (check out our gut health therapy page for details), and poor gut health can wreak havoc on our skin, too.

In fact, a recent study suggests that enriching the gut with certain probiotics may produce more radiant and resilient skin, while promoting wound healing. Probiotics and other forms of gut health treatments may be a good first step, if you’re wondering what can make my skin glow naturally or how to get healthy glowing skin naturally in a few weeks?
