What are exosomes and exosome therapy?
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles (EVs)—tiny fluid-filled sacs or nanoparticles—secreted by most types of cells, including stem cells. EVs, including exosomes, facilitate intercellular communication—a process known as paracrine signaling. Essentially, exosomes act as tiny messengers delivering nutrients and biological signals from cell to cell, altering the behavior of the cells. Isolated from human amniotic stem cells, EVEXIAS’ exosome product includes a powerful combination of growth factors, hyaluronic acid, and micro RNA, as well as cytokines and chemokines (two proteins that support cell signaling). During exosome therapy, the exosome product is injected into the area of concern (the face, scalp, sexual organs, muscles and joints) to help heal and regenerate tissue.
While the exosome product is isolated from donor perinatal tissue and not the patient, exosomes have been shown to be biocompatible—meaning they are not harmful to human tissue—and present little or no inherent toxicity issues. EVEXIAS sources its exosome product from Organicell,® a lab with extensive experience in the regenerative medicine space, as well as several clinical trials ongoing with FDA approval, utilizing their product in various medical specialties.
